Bound Rings Ltd Returns and Refund Policy

This Returns and Refund Policy explains how to return items purchased from Bound Rings Ltd ("we", "us", "our") through www.boundrings.co.uk and boundrings.com, and how refunds are processed. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Warranty Policy.


1. RETURN POLICY

1.1 Return Window

We offer a 30-day return policy from the date of delivery. This means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

The return period starts from the delivery date as shown on your tracking information.

1.2 Who Can Return

This policy applies to all customers in the United Kingdom and European Union.

European Union customers: In addition to our 30-day return policy, you have the statutory right to cancel or return your order within 14 days for any reason under EU Consumer Rights Directive. Our 30-day policy extends this protection.


2. ELIGIBILITY FOR RETURNS

2.1 Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • In resellable condition - the item must be damage-free and suitable for resale

  • Unworn or unused - you may try the ring on to check size and fit, but it must not show signs of wear beyond try-on

Packaging: You do not need to return the original ring box or outer packaging, provided the ring itself is in resellable condition.

2.2 What You Need

To initiate a return, you'll need:

  • Receipt or proof of purchase (order confirmation email)

  • The item in eligible condition as described above


3. ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE RETURNED

3.1 Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned unless they are defective or we sent you the wrong item:

  • Custom or personalized items (including engraved rings)

  • Gift cards

3.2 Defective or Wrong Items Exception

If any of the above items arrive defective, damaged, or if we sent you the wrong item, they are eligible for return or replacement. See Section 5 below.


4. HOW TO START A RETURN

4.1 Contact Us First

You must contact us before sending any items back. Items sent without prior authorization will not be accepted and may cause delays in processing your refund.

To start a return:

  1. Email us at hello@boundrings.co.uk with:

    • Your order number

    • The item(s) you wish to return

    • Reason for return

    • Whether you prefer refund or store credit

  2. We'll respond with return instructions and confirmation of your return request

  3. Send your item following the instructions provided

4.2 Return Shipping Address

All returns should be sent to our UK address (provided in your return authorization email). This applies to both UK and EU customers.

4.3 Return Shipping Costs

For non-defective returns (changed your mind, wrong size, don't like it):

  • You are responsible for return shipping costs

  • We recommend using a tracked service for your protection

  • We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit

For defective, damaged, or wrong items:

  • We cover all return shipping costs

  • We will provide a prepaid return label


5. DEFECTIVE, DAMAGED, OR WRONG ITEMS

5.1 Reporting Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery. If the item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Reporting timeframe: You must report defects, damage, or wrong items within 7 days of delivery so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

5.2 What We Need

Contact us at hello@boundrings.co.uk with:

  • Your order number

  • Clear photos of the item and any damage

  • Description of the issue

5.3 Resolution

For defective, damaged, or wrong items, we will offer:

  1. Replacement (our standard remedy)

  2. Full refund if replacement is not available or if you prefer

Replacement timeframe: Replacements will be dispatched within 5 business days of receiving your returned item.

Return shipping: We will provide a prepaid return label. You are not responsible for return shipping costs for defective, damaged, or wrong items.


6. RETURNS INSPECTION & APPROVAL

6.1 Inspection Process

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it within 5 business days to confirm it meets our return eligibility requirements.

We will notify you by email once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know whether your refund or exchange has been approved.

6.2 Rejected Returns

If your returned item does not meet our eligibility requirements (e.g., item is worn, damaged, or not in resellable condition):

  • Your refund will be denied

  • You will be notified by email

  • We will charge you for the cost of shipping the item back to you

  • The item will be returned to your address

6.3 Unauthorized Returns

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will:

  • Be held at our facility

  • Not be processed until you contact us

  • May cause significant delays in processing your refund

Please always contact us before returning items.


7. REFUNDS

7.1 Refund Processing Time

If your return is approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method (or store credit if requested) within 10 business days of approval.

Please note: Your bank or credit card company may take additional time to process and post the refund.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return and you haven't received your refund, please contact us at hello@boundrings.co.uk.

7.2 Refund Method

Refunds will be processed to:

  • Your original payment method (default), or

  • Store credit if you request it

If your original payment method is no longer valid (e.g., expired card, closed account), please contact us so we can arrange an alternative refund method.

7.3 Refund Amount

Standard returns:

  • Full purchase price of the returned item(s)

  • Minus any premium delivery charges you selected at checkout (standard free delivery is not deducted)

  • Minus return shipping costs if applicable

Defective, damaged, or wrong item returns:

  • Full purchase price of the returned item(s)

  • Original shipping charges refunded (if any were charged)

  • No return shipping costs deducted (we provide prepaid label)

7.4 Partial Orders & Multiple Items

You may return individual items from an order containing multiple items. The refund will be calculated based on the item(s) returned.

Matching ring sets or pairs:

If you purchased a matching set or pair at a discounted rate and return only one ring:

  • You will be refunded the individual ring price, not 50% of the pair price

  • The price difference between the pair price and individual price will be deducted from your refund

Example: If a pair costs £100 but individual rings cost £60 each, returning one ring from the pair will result in a refund of £40 (£100 pair price minus £60 for the ring you're keeping).


8. EXCHANGES

8.1 Standard Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to:

  1. Return the item you have (following this Returns Policy)

  2. Once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item

8.2 Size Exchanges for Non-Resizable Rings

For rings made from materials that cannot be traditionally resized (tungsten, titanium, stainless steel, zirconium), please refer to our separate Re-sizing Programme Policy for lifetime size-exchange options.


9. CANCELLATIONS

9.1 Pre-Orders

If you have purchased a pre-order item that has not yet been dispatched (fulfilled), you may cancel your order.

To cancel a pre-order:

  • Email hello@boundrings.co.uk with your order number

  • There are no time restrictions—you can cancel anytime before the item is dispatched

  • Any deposit or payment will be refunded immediately

If the pre-order has already been fulfilled and dispatched, you cannot cancel it, but you may return it following our standard 30-day return policy.

9.2 Standard Orders

Before dispatch:

You may request cancellation of a standard order during our processing period (typically 1-2 business days).

To request cancellation, email hello@boundrings.co.uk immediately with your order number.

  • If we can stop the order before dispatch, we will cancel it and issue a full refund

  • If the order has already been dispatched, you will need to receive it and then return it following our standard return policy

After dispatch:

Orders cannot be cancelled once dispatched. You must receive the item and follow our return policy if you no longer want it.


10. IMPORTANT NOTES

10.1 Engraved Rings

Engraved rings are custom-made for you and cannot be returned unless they are defective or we made an error in the engraving.

If we made a mistake (wrong text, misspelling caused by our error, poor engraving quality), we will replace the ring at no cost to you.

10.2 Sale and Clearance Items

Sale and clearance items are subject to the same return policy as regular-priced items. There is no distinction in return eligibility.

10.3 Gift Cards

Gift cards are not returnable or refundable under any circumstances.

10.4 Loss or Theft

This returns policy does not cover loss or theft of items. We are not responsible for items lost or stolen after delivery.

10.5 Your Statutory Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and EU Consumer Rights Directive.
